The Course

The PADI Advanced Open Water Course develops your underwater skills and give you a taste of specialty diving activities, but the scope can vary to accommodate different interests.

Once you have successfully completed the course you will be qualified to plan and conduct dives to depths of 30 metres.

The qualification is also a pre-requesite for the PADI Rescue Diver course.

Course Outline

PADI Advanced Open Water Course Designed for divers wishing to experience a wider range of diving activities and developing a deeper understanding of diving. Although there is some academic work, the majority of the course is spent enjoying different aspects of diving. It can be completed in two days. Qualification requires:
  • two core dives (navigation dive and deep dive)
  • three elective dives from list on right

Specialty dives:

With the guidance of your PADI instructor, taking into account the diving opportunities available at our chosen location, select from the following specialty dives:

  • night dive
  • altitude dive
  • boat dive
  • drift dive
  • dry suit dive
  • multilevel dive
  • search and recovery dive
  • underwater naturalist dive
  • underwater photography dive
  • wreck dive
