Open Water Diver Course

The Course

The most popular dive qualification in the world, the PADI Open Water Diver Course qualifies you to dive by teaching you the fundamentals of scuba diving including both the techniques and equipment. Anyone over the age of 10 who is relatively fit and healthy and who can swim 200 metres can take the course.

The full certification course consists of 3 parts:

1. Theory Parts 1 and 2 are known as the Referral Course and can be taken together. You will be suprised at how easy it is: most of the theory element can be completed in the comfort of your own home using video or CD-ROM and the pool training takes place in a heated indoor pool.
2. Pool Training
3. Open Water Dives Once you have completed the Referral Course you need to make 4 open water dives with your instructor.

Referral Course

At Sunsea Divers we know how hard it is for many of our clients to fit in with a given timetable and so we offer a selection of flexible ways of completing the Course.

The following options are available, contact the office to make arrangements.

Options Costs
Weekend course, typically 9am-5pm Saturday and Sunday. Each day will comprise several dives in our indoor swimming pool and a classroom session. Usually £277 SPECIAL OFFER £199
includes use of dive equipment, pool fees, air fills, referal certificate and '2 for 1' bubble blowing voucher.
The same course content as above, split into five weekly evening sessions.
Private tailor made instruction at a time and place to fit your requirements. Corporate programmes are also available. POA. Please Contact the office for full details.

Open Water Dives

On completion of Parts 1 and 2 of the course you will receive a referral certificate which enables you to complete the qualification in any PADI centre throughout the world, within twelve months of issue.

We offer two options ourselves as follows, contact the office to make arrangements.

Options Costs
In the UK over two days The cost of this option is £140, including full use of dive equipment, instruction, air fills etc.
We offer numerous instructor escorted holidays to the Red Sea, Egypt and further flung destinations such as South Africa, Mexico, Maldives and Fiji on which you can complete your open water dives. The prices of these trips vary, but if you take up this option we will offer you £70 off the usual £140 for the qualification dive course.
