Back to HomeEmergency First Response Course

The Emergency First Response course applies to all walks of life and is not specifically related to diving. The course combines First Aid and CPR and teaches you (at a laymans level) the same emergency techniques used by paramedics and doctors. The course, which is very highly recommended to everyone, is the one PADI course that can make a difference even when you're not diving.

Content

The course, which is recognised in over 80 countries and which conforms to International First Aid standards, covers the seven basic skills of patient care:

  • Primary Assesment
  • Obstructed Airways
  • One Rescuer CPR
  • Control of bleeding
  • Shock management
  • Illness assesment - the 9 most common medical emergencies
  • Injury assesment - the 12 most common accidental injuries

Prerequisites

The only prerequisite is that you must be over 12 years of age. Non-divers are most welcome.

Timetable

The length of the course is normally around 8 hours over one Saturday (although we can run the course at different times and over different durations if there is sufficient demand) and normally precedes the Rescue Diver Course starting on the Sunday.

Cost

The cost of the course is £75 or £65 if taken in conjunction with the Rescue Diver course. The cost includes instruction, Emergency First Response workbook and certificate.
